International Film Festival Rotterdam has announced a selection of 16 feature film projects for the 41st edition of CineMart, running January 28th to 31st. Among them is Lucia by Irish filmmaker Aisling Walsh.
Irish director Aisling Walsh’s latest feature, Lucia, will feature as part of 16 feature films at the CineMart 2024, the co-production market of the International Film Festival Rotterdam. The market will run from January 28th to 31st.
Walsh’s upcoming feature Lucia follows the life of professional dancer and daughter of James Joyce, Lucia Joyce. Maudie, Walsh’s previous feature debuted at Telluride Film Festival and starred Ethan Hawke (Training Day) and Sally Hawkins (The Shape of Water).
Other films at CineMart include The Possessed, from Dutch-based Bosnian filmmaker Ena Sendijarević (Take Me Somewhere Nice), the director of Sweet Dreams, the Dutch submission for the Oscars 2024.
Aisling Walsh’s upcoming musical biopic Ethel, starring Shira Haas (Unorthodox) as conductor Ethel Stark, is set to shoot later this year.
