09 Feb 2012 | Fastnet Films' co-produced documentary on Dutch photographer and filmmaker Anton Corbijn (Control, The American) ‘Anton Corbijn Inside Out’ has been selected for the special programme at the 62nd Berline International Film Festival.

Sheridan's 'Dollhouse' selected for SXSW Festival
03 Feb 2012 | Irish director Kirsten Sheridan’s latest film ‘Dollhouse’ is to have its North American premiere at the South by South West festival in Austen Texas this March in the ‘Emerging Visions’ category. The title along with 17 others was whittled down from 570 international films entered to the festival.

Element Pictures re-open Light House Cinema
18 Jan 2012 | Minister for The Arts, Heritage and the Gealtacht, Jimmy Deenihan, has officially re-launched the Light House Cinema in Smithfield in Dublin 7. The cinema has been taken over by production company Element Pictures and will have its opening weekend on the 20th January 2012.

Fingal Film Festival Sets Date For Inaugural Festival in 2012
10 Jan 2012 | It has been announced this week that the first ever Fingal Film Festival will take place on the 21st of March in the UCI Blanchardstown Centre and Draíocht. Independent filmmakers are being asked to submit their new films, documentaries, shorts and animation to the festival for screening. 
Simon Delaney to Host 9th Annual Irish Film and Television Awards
06 Jan 2012 | The Irish Film and Television Academy (IFTA) have announced that Irish actor Simon Delaney (This Must Be The Place, Father & Son) will return to host the 9th Annual Irish Film & Television Awards for the second successive year. The gala Irish Awards Ceremony takes place this year in the Convention Centre Dublin on Saturday 11th February and will be broadcast on RTÉ One from 9.30pm GMT.
