The launch for the RTÉ Guide Best TV Moment of 2011 took place in the Shelbourne Hotel in Dublin on Wednesday 18th of January 2012, at the launch to day was Rozanna Purcell and Jamie Heaslip.
The public can vote on www.rte.ie/tvmoments for the nominee you think deserves to be crowned the RTÉ Guide Best TV Moment of 2011. And as an added bonus, anyone voting will also be entered into a competition where they can win an exclusive VIP night at the Irish Film & Television Awards, taking place in Dublin’s Convention Centre on Saturday 11th of February and broadcasting on RTÉ One at 9.30pm.

69th Annual Golden Globe Awards were held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Sunday 15th January 2012.
Amongst the Irish interest on the night were Michael Fassbender who was nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Drama for his role in 'Shame'. Brendan Gleeson best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Comedy Or Musical for 'The Guard' and Glenn Close who was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama for her role in the Irish co-production 'Albert Nobbs'

THE GREY PREMIERE IN LOS ANGELES

'The Grey' the new movie starring Irish actor Liam Nesson received it's world premiere on 11th January 2012 at the Regal Cinemas L.A.
The film stars Neeson as a member of an oil drilling team in Alaska who struggle to survive after a plane crash strands them in the wild. Hunting the humans are a pack of wolves who see them as intruders.
