Galway Film Centre will host a one day seminar with Mark Byrne (Head of
Business Affairs, Element Pictures) in Galway in January 2014. This talk
would be suited to those who work in production or those with an interest in
film-making. It will cover topics such as:
* What is copyright?
* Contracts
* Setting up a production company
* Option agreements
* Screenplay Agreements
* Music copyright and clearances
* IFB funding requirements
Date: 1 day, Thursday, January 30th, 2014 (9.30am-4.30pm)

About the Tutor:
Mark Byrne joined Element Pictures in June 2012 to take up
a new role of Head of Business Affairs. Recent projects that Mark has
worked on for Element include Quirke a 3 x 90 television series for the BBC
starring Gabriel Byrne, Frank, a feature film directed by Lenny Abrahamson
starring Domhnall Gleeson, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Michael Fassbender, Jimmy's
Hall a co-production with Sixteen Films directed by Ken Loach and Citizen
Charlie a 3X90 series about Charles Haughey starring Aidan Gillen for RTÉ.
Mark has over 14 years experience working in the film and TV business and
for 6 years worked with Bord Scannáin/the Irish Film Board as
initially Business & Legal Executive and subsequently Head of Legal Affairs.
