Virgin Media Television (VMTV) has appointed Anthony as Director of Programming. Nilan has held a number of roles since joining VMTV almost 10 years ago, working in commissioning and more recently as Head of Content Strategy.
In his new role Anthony Nilan will report directly to Áine Ní Chaoindealbháin, Virgin Media Television’s Managing Director. Nilan will be responsible for delivering on VMTV’s public service remit, overseeing the networks non news and sport output including commissions, acquisitions, and scheduling for 5 linear channels and VMTV's VOD service.
Prior to his time at VMTV, Nilan worked for 9 years in the independent sector, producing some of the biggest entertainment formats on Irish television such as The Apprentice, The Voice, and Dragons Den. In 2021, he graduated from TU Dublin with a Masters in Business Administration.
