The longlist for the National Television Awards 2012 has been announced and is peppered with Irish talent, including Colin Morgan and Katie McGrath for their roles in ‘Merlin’; presenter Graham Norton and BBC/RTÉ comedy series ‘Mrs. Brown’s Boys’.

’Hollyoaks’ star Emmett J. Scanlan has been longlisted in the category of Best Serial Drama Performance. Other Irish contenders for the National Television Awards include Ciarán Hinds (Above Suspicion), UK/Irish actor Brendan Coyle (Downton Abbey), Colin Morgan (Merlin), James Nesbitt (Monroe) and Stephen Rea (The Shadow Line) all in the category of Best Drama Performance: Male.
Katie McGrath has been selected to compete for Best Drama Performance: Female for her role in BBC’s ‘Merlin’. Other Irish mentions include Graham Norton in the category of Best Talk Show and Best Entertainment Presenter and ‘Mrs Brown’s Boys’ for Best Situation Comedy.
The National Television Awards will be held in London in 2012 and will be hosted by another man with Irish blood Dermot O’Leary. Voting for the long-list closes on October 17th and can be done on the website by clicking here.
