The script, co-written by David Gleeson and Stephen Beresford, focuses on Tolkien’s life prior to World War One. Lily Colins will play Edith Bratt, Tolkien’s wife, who inspired the elven princess characters in the Middle Earth series of books that were eventually adapted for the screen ‘The Lord of the Rings’ and ‘The Hobbit’.
Gleeson has also just wrapped the IFB-backed ‘Don’t Let Go’ starring Stephen Dorff and Melissa George which just completed filming on the west coast of Ireland.
