IFB Details 2012 Catalogue, Two New BBC Dramas
03 Feb 2012 | The Irish Film Board (IFB) has announced strategic plans for 2012 with their production catalogue including 18 upcoming feature films. Projects such as Lance Daly’s ‘Life’s a Breeze’ starring Fionnuala Flanagan; Lenny Abrahamson’s ‘What Richard Did’; ‘Sanctuary’ by Norah McGettingan; ‘Love Eternal’ by Brendan Muldowney and Neil Jordan’s vampire thriller ‘Byzantium’ which wrapped in Ireland this week to name but a few.

03 Feb 2012 | Annie award winning animation director Brenda Chapman (Brave, The Prince of Egypt) is to take up a visiting fellowship at the National Film School in the Institute of Art, Design and Technology in Dún Laoghaire from 17th-27th February. 
'Privates' in Production in Northern Ireland
03 Feb 2012 | A new 5x45 minute drama series for the BBC One is currently being filmed in Northern Ireland. ‘Privates’ is set in the 1960s and follows the story of eight young men as they undertake their basic training as part of the last intake of conscripts for National Service. 
O’Dowd’s ‘Moone Boy’ Lands UK & Irish Filmmaking Talent
01 Feb 2012 | Principal photography has almost finished on Chris O’Dowd’s six part comedy series for Sky One ‘Moone Boy’. A semi-autobiographical tale about O’Dowd’s time growing up in Boyle, Co. Roscommon but with a quirky twist - this series combines Irish and English production and acting talent. 
Holly Carey is Euro Literary Agent at Lisa Richards

19 Jan 2012 | Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board and the Irish Film and Television Academy (IFTA) have announced the short list for the 2012 ‘Rising Star’ Award. The nominees were chosen by a special jury and this special award aims to highlight exceptional new and breakthrough talent working in all areas of the Irish film industry. This year’s nominees include two writer-directors and two actors.

The gala Irish Awards Ceremony takes place this year in the Convention Centre Dublin on Saturday 11th February and will be broadcast on RTÉ One from 9.30pm GMT.

03 Jan 2012 | Irish actor Michael Fassbender (X-men First Class, Hunger) has again been honoured with two Best Actor awards this week for his performance in Steven McQueen’s ‘Shame’. Yesterday Fassbender was named Best Actor at the Capri Hollywood International Film Festival in Rome and today it was announced that Online Film Critics Society has honoured him with the accolade at their 15th Online Film Critics Society Awards.
