Applications are currently being accepted for the Berlinale Talent Campus which will take place during the 62nd Berlin International Film Festival from February 11-16th 2012.
Emerging film professionals and advanced film students from all over the world are invited to apply for the Berlindale Talent Campus, which is an international film summit for talented up-and-coming young filmmakers. Now in its tenth year the Berlinale Talent Campus will address the theme “Changing Perspectives”.
The summit aims to bring together emerging talent and seasoned professionals and to give them a platform to refresh their views, discover new horizons, find fellow filmmaking collaborator and to discuss new trends and developments in contemporary cinema and media.
Irish filmmaker Michael Lavelle’s short ‘The Ambassador’s Wife’ was shortlisted in the final five projects for the Berlinale Talent Campus short film competition Berlin Today Award 2011. He produced the short together with production company Macchiato Pictures at last year’s Berlinale Campus and said that ”Directing a film under the banner of the Berlinale has opened doors for me to collaborate with an incredibly talented group of people and it’s a wonderful privilege to be making this film as part of such a passionate team.”
Applicants can apply for hands on training in addition to the general Campus programme. These training events include ‘Doc Station’(strengthening the narrative structure of documentary treatment), ‘Script Station’ (strengthening narrative structure of feature film script), ‘Talent Project Marker 2012’ (connecting projects to financiers at the Berlinale Co-production Market), ‘Campus Studio 2012’ (Look at digital workflows, editing and post-production), ‘Score Competition’ (composing a new score for a short film with professional support), ‘Talent Actors Stage 2012’ (Actors workshop in script reading, camera acting, casting as well as master-classes) and ‘Talent Press 2012’ (For film critics to publish daily reviews about the festival with the help of tutors).
