Galway City of Film are inviting Filmmakers/ Film Enthusiasts to make a one-minute HD film, based on any subject or any story. The best 30 x 1 minute films will be selected by a panel of judges and they will be screened at a special public event at the 28th Galway Film Fleadh 2016 which runs from 5th to 10th July.

Deadline for Entry: 4pm (GMT) Thursday June 23rd 2016. How to Enter:

  • Wetransfer us your film (Specifications:.mov/.mp4, H264, Apple Pro Res)
  • Wetransfer us a still image from the film.
  • Also send a Vimeo/Youtube link.
  • Send the above information to oneminute@galwayfilmcentre.ie

The IFI Family Festival returns June 24th – 26th. Along with three days of films from around the world – almost all Irish premieres – there’s a chance to meet a beautiful Golden Eagle, crack some mysterious codes, create fanzines, have a hoedown in Meeting House Square with the schools’ screening, meet the makers of Zig and Zag and find out some exciting facts about the Bard!

Over three days, we will host the very finest Irish artists, musicians, poets, film-makers and storytellers at our home in Camden Square. ‘Céad’ will sow the seed for a new annual Irish Arts Festival in London. In this centenary year, our programme will respond to the vision and ideas of the Rising, explore the journey of Irish culture in that 100 year period and express new visions for Irish culture.

Tickets €10 with all proceeds raised on the night will go towards the JUMP! for The Down Syndrome Centre campaign which is aiming to raise funds for the centre's Occupational Therapy programme.

AEMI (Artists’ & Experimental Moving Image) presents a discussion at Temple Bar Gallery + Studios with Lewis Klahr, one of America’s most prolific avant-garde filmmakers. Prior to the discussion AEMI presents a screening at the Irish Film Institute of Klahr’s 90-minute, 12-episode feature Sixty Six.
