The Art of Comedy This four week intensive comedy course is aimed at professionals and non-professionals. The four three hour workshops cover all aspects of the comedy business including comedy writing for stage and screen, performance, production and creating your own platform. The course also focuses heavily on comedy improv and is tailored for individuals who would like to find their own comedy voice through improvisation and group work. So, if you see yourself as a stand-up , comedy writer or you just simply want to have some fun, this is the course for you.

Richard is the producer of TRUE DETECTIVE, the upcoming adaptation of CATCH 22 and a number of other acclaimed serial dramas and films. Richard will discuss creating quality screen narrative amid the uncertainties of the new digital market.

After the successful last edition, both in critics and number of spectators (almost 90.000 in just eight days), it is time now, in 2016, to take advantage of the great momentum that the 60th anniversary has given to Seminci: a massive public reaction and a €10 million impact in the media which undeniably make this festival the second in Spain. This position was confirmed last February by the Observatory of Culture in Spain, a prestigious foundation that every year conducts surveys to find the most beloved and respected cultural institutions: Seminci was in the 26th position in a list in which only San Sebastián Film Festival appears in the top 15.

An introduction to all the main aspects of directing is combined with practical exercises in shooting to give an overview and experience of the basics – the practical knowledge you need in order to direct films. You will be guided through the process of preparation, taking in all the major departments that come together to make a film possible. In addition to practical exercises, all participants will shoot and crew short scenes. Course Content: During the course students will write and redraft a short scene. In week six, each student directs a small crew and cast, and shoots the scene on digital video using a Sony Z1. Introduction to the role and responsibilities of the director Introduction to crew roles Overview of technology and workflow. Script readings and dialogue analysis Storyboarding Translating the screenplay into visuals. Clones Film Festival - Ireland’s Biggest Little Film Festival - will once again offer an action-packed programme featuring new Irish & international cinema releases, interviews, documentaries, short film competitions, children’s films and live music festival club this October bank holiday weekend (Thurs 27 – Sun 30 October 2016). Kirk is a working actor since the late 1980’s and infamously played the part the tortured police officer, Marvin Nash, in Quentin Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs. Kirk has also worked with directors including Oliver Stone (Natural Born Killers), John Woo (Face/Off), Warren Beatty (Bulworth) and Kevin Costner (Dances With Wolves). He has also been a familiar face on US Network television for over 20 years with roles on shows such as NYPD Blue, NCIS LA, 24 and Without A Trace.
