VFX: Script to Screen is aimed primarily at producers and/or directors who wish to gain the skills to produce and manage a VFX project from development to production. Key creatives such as cinematographers, editors and production designers may also attend. Participants can apply with or without a project; the programme includes several scheduled VFX Clinics during which participants can discuss VFX elements and issues in their projects with VFX Supervisors and VFX Producers.

The courses run regularly throughout the year –each course lasting for twelve weeks– on a Saturday all day and Wednesday evenings.Content includes key elements of actor training including Character-Page to Stage, Acting for Camera, improvisation / voice&movement plus audition technique. Special attention is given to the difference between screen and stage Acting.The course culminates in a video showreel so that the student can launch themselves within the Industry especially for casting for commercials and short films to gain that vital hands on experience.

A new Short Film Commission Scheme has been announced by RTÉ in partnership with Galway Film Centre and Galway Film Fleadh.
Writers are invited to submit a story idea and the best three ideas will be selected and receive a prize of €500 each.

In a recent review of the programming output of the ILBF, the ILBF investment Committee indicated a wish to see more content targeted at children and content with particular relevance or appropriateness to Irish Language Learners.
The fund would welcome any enquiries in the interim period and would also encourage independent production companies to liaise with the broadcasters who have shown an interest in developing programme ideas, namely BBC NI, TG4 and RTÉ.
