Graham Stuart Announced as New Executive Chair of the Edinburgh International Television Festival
03 Oct 2017 :
Graham Stuart has taken up his three-year tenure as executive chair of the Edinburgh International Television Festival.

Stuart has pledged to make the event "relevant and inspiring" and will continue to put the charitable aims of the Festival's talent schemes at the heart of the event.

Graham Stuart, Managing Director of So Television, said:

"The TV Festival takes place against the backdrop of the world's greatest arts festival so we're able to tap into the greatest performers all gathered in one city and we can draw from that energy.

It's an honour and a privilege to be the head of this event which is invaluable to TV industry professionals on a business, personal and social level. It's hopefully the place where people can gain inspiration and understand the key to success."

Stuart takes over from Chris Shaw, editorial director, ITN Productions and will oversee the Executive Committee which is made up of senior figures from the television industry.

Invited by successive Festival chairs, they meet five times a year and take responsibility for the operation of the TV Festival, reporting to the Board. Members commit to: attending the Festival; contributing financially through sponsorship or resource; helping judge the Edinburgh TV Awards and supporting the Advisory by focusing on specific areas where help may be required.  The Executive are charged with helping to preserve the unique creative character of the Festival and at the same time ensuring that it thrives in a fast-changing media environment.

Stuart also chairs the Board of Directors, which is responsible for corporate governance and the strategic direction of the TV Festival.
