BAFTA has unveiled the round two voting longlists for its 2024 film awards. The longlist features Irish actors Andrew Scott, Barry Keoghan, Cillian Murphy, Paul Mescal and Irish cinematographer Robbie Ryan.
The British Academy of Film and Television Arts have released a longlist for all 24 categories. Round two voting begins today, with BAFTA members voting until Friday, January 12th. 69 films have been longlisted across the 24 categories. Greta Gerwig’s Barbie, Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer and Martin Scorsese’s Killers Of The Flower Moon lead with 15 longlist spots each. Element Pictures’ Poor Things, which won the Golden Lion at Venice Film Festival last year, has 14 spots on the longlist.
Included among Poor Things’ spots on the longlist, is Irish cinematographer Robbie Ryan in the Cinematography category, as well as the Best Film category.
Andrew Scott (All of Us Strangers), Barry Keoghan (Saltburn), and Cillian Murphy (Oppenheimer) are longlisted for the Leading Actor BAFTA, while Paul Mescal (All of Us Strangers) is longlisted for the Supporting Actor BAFTA.
Scott, Keoghan, and Murphy were all recently nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama at the 81st Golden Globes for their respective roles.
The BAFTA nominations will be announced by former Rising Star nominees Naomi Ackie and Kingsley Ben-Adir on Thursday, January 18th, and the awards ceremony will take place one month later on February 18th. David Tennant will host the ceremony from the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall in London.
