North Circular filmmaker Luke McManus's latest documentary The Locals premiered on RTE One last night and is now available on the RTE Player.
The Locals was filmed during the recent local election campaign across Dublin's North Inner City, and provides a fly-on-the-wall look at a number of candidates vying for a seat in one of the country's most densely populated constituencies.
McManus directed the musical documentary North Circular which received an IFTA nomination for Best Feature Documentary in 2023, and has enjoyed a successful series of event screenings - often accompanied by live musical performances - around the country.
The Locals is narrated by Neilí Conroy (The Van, Fair City), produced by Nuala Carr, with Kathy Fox as executive producer for RTE and Gráinne McAleer as commissioning editor for RTE.
The Locals is now available to watch on RTE Player.
