Irish feature film ‘The Blackwater Lightship’ has been nominated in the Best Films for Television category at the 2004 Monte Carlo Television Festival.
The film stars three-time Academy Award nominee Angela Lansbury (Gaslight, The Picture of Dorian Gray, The Manchurian Candidate) and two-time Academy Award winner Dianne Wiest (Hannah and Her Sisters, Bullets Over Broadway) in the lead roles. Based on the novel by Colm Toibin, The Blackwater Lightship tells the compelling story of reconciliation between three generations of women.
Shot on location in Brittas Bay and Ardmore Studios in August/September 2003, the film was premiered on CBS in February this year receiving rave reviews.
The winners will be announced during the festival in Monte Carlo at the end of June and producer Morgan O’Sullivan (World 2000), director John Erman and actress Dianne Wiest plan to travel to Monte Carlo to participate in the festivities.
