11 Apr 2014 : Deirdre Molumby
Black comedy ‘Jack and Ralph Plan a Murder’ will have its World Premiere at the LA Comedy Festival. It was one of the 19 feature films selected for what is one of the largest comedy festivals in the USA, featuring film, live comedy acts and a screenplay competition. The festival runs from the 23rd of April to the 6th of May with all film screenings and live shows taking place at the Let Live Theatre in the heart of Hollywood.

‘Jack and Ralph Plan a Murder’ is an independent, Irish, gross-out comedy about a man called Jack who is bullied at work and plots the murder of his bully with an imaginary friend called Ralph. The feature is written, produced by and stars Jeff Doyle.

Doyle says, “I am genuinely delighted that ‘Jack and Ralph Plan a Murder’ is premiering at the LA comedy Festival, America’s biggest comedy festival. The film was made just over a year ago and to be having its premiere in Hollywood, Los Angeles, is awesome.”

Cinematography for ‘Jack and Ralph Plan a Murder’ was by Luke Daly. The film was edited by Shaun Ryan (from ‘Crooked Creations’) with sound design by Nikki Moss (‘Good Vibrations’, ‘The Sea’). Darius McGann wrote the score for the film.

The film stars a number of established as well as emerging Irish talent, including Peter Coonan, winner of the IFTA for Best Supporting Actor Drama for his role in ‘Love/Hate’, Chris Newman (‘Song for a Raggy Boy’, ‘Saving the Titanic’) and John Connors (‘Stalker’, ‘King of the Travellers’). Aisling Bodkin (‘Love/Hate’), Johnny Elliott (‘Charlie Casanova’, ‘Patrick’s Day’), Jeff Doyle (‘Cuckoo’) and Brian Elliott (‘GOT’) are also cast members.

‘Jack and Ralph Plan a Murder’ will screen on Sunday, May 4th at 2pm at the Let Live Theatre, LA.
