The long-running HBO fantasy series cleaned-up at the award ceremonies held on both the 8th and 9th September respectively.
‘Game of Thrones’ was nominated for 15 Emmys in total, taking home seven in the following categories: Best Fantasy/Sci-Fi Costumes; Best Prosthetic Makeup; Best Music Composition (Series); Best Production Design; Best Sound Mixing (One Hour Series); Best Special Visual Effects and Best Stunt Coordination.
Irish Sound mixer, Ronan Hill collected his 4th Primetime Emmy for his work on the ‘Game of Thrones’ season seven episode ‘Beyond the Wall.’ He collected the award for Outstanding Sound Mixing (one hour series) at the Awards ceremony in Los Angeles on Saturday night.
Speaking to IFTN, Ronan firstly thanked his team: James Atkinson; Jonathan Riddell; Andrew McNeill and the entire sound team. He also thanked the cast and crew on Dragon Unit, HBO, Fire and Blood Productions and Northern Ireland Screen:
“This is another amazing win for the show. It has been an epic series and a career high. We shall never see it’s like again.”
The 8th season of the hit television show is currently in production in Northern Ireland, with a release date slated at some point in 2019.
