Dana Strong appointed CEO of UPC Ireland
31 Jan 2011 | Home entertainment and communications company UPC has announced the appointment of Dana Strong to the role of Chief Executive Officer of UPC Ireland, which will take effect from May 1st, 2011. Dana is the successor of Robert Dunn, who has been appointed as Managing Director UPC Netherlands. 
Free to Air TG4 & RTÉ Coming to NI
05 Jan 2011 | A new transmitter in Divis in Belfast is currently allowing for free-to-air availability of TG4 in approximately 60% of Northern Irish homes. Furthermore, as part of the 2012 DTT switchover the Irish and UK governments will construct a low power TV multiplex in Northern Ireland will further increase the coverage of these channels to approximately 90% of homes in the north. 
The Queen Launches UTV HD in Northern Ireland
26 Oct 2010 | Queen Elizabeth officially launched UTV’s High Definition service last week, at a reception at UTV Media plc’s headquarters in Belfast. Her Majesty, accompanied by the Duke of Edinburgh, toured Studio One, the news and content floor and watched footage from the UTV archive of their previous visits to Northern Ireland. 
Ireland Placed 13th in Broadband Leadership Study
19 Oct 2010 | Monday, October 18th saw Communications Minister, Eamon Ryan welcome Cisco’s third annual broadband study results which place Ireland 13th of 72 countries worldwide for broadband leadership. Ireland has moved up 3 places from its place at 16 in last year’s study. 
Tyrell appointed as Clear-Com Region Distributor

Minister Ryan Switches on Exemplar Network
20 Jul 2010 | Communications Minister Eamon Ryan has switched on the Government’s Exemplar Network. This is globally unique fibre-optic communications network using patented Irish technology will now allow for the high-speed and high-quality transfer of electronic data. 
Irish Talent Receives Six Primetime Emmy Nominations
08 Jul 2010 | Irish television talent has come away with six well-deserved Primetime Emmy nominations. ‘The Tudors’ has been nominated for its art direction, cinematography, costumes and hair and make-up whilst Michael Gambon’s acting has been lauded as has ‘Celtic Woman’s David Downes for his music direction. The awards will take place on August 29th.

European Media Services Directive IRIS Report Published
