IFC Films have released a trailer and poster for Oddity, a Keeper Pictures production, directed by Damian McCarthy. The horror film had its world premiere at SXSW 2024.
Keeper Pictures’ Oddity won the Midnighter Audience Award at SXSW 2024 earlier this year, where it had its world premiere. Shortly after, the horror won the Audience Award for Best Feature at Overlook Film Festival 2024, an annual film festival taking place in New Orleans each May, showcasing American and international horror films.
Oddity follows a blind medium who uncovers the truth behind her sister's death with the help of a frightening wooden mannequin. The cast includes Gwilym Lee (Bohemian Rhapsody), Carolyn Bracken (An Cailín Ciúin), Tadhg Murphy (The Northman), Caroline Menton (Altar Boys), Steve Wall (Dune: Part Two), Johnny French (The Rock in the Sea), Joe Rooney (Killinaskully), Shane Whisker (The Pope’s Exorcist), and Ivan de Wergifosse (The Last Duel).
The film is written and directed by Damian McCarthy (Caveat), and produced by Katie Holly (Extra Ordinary), Evan Horan (Caveat), Mette-Marie Kongsved (I Don't Feel at Home in This World Anymore), and Laura Tunstall (Come To Daddy).
IFC Films/Shudder will distribute the Irish horror in US cinemas from July 19th, 2024. An Irish theatrical release date for Oddity is TBC.
