Jack Reynor has joined John Carney’s latest film Power Ballad, starring Paul Rudd and Nick Jonas. The film is currently shooting in Dublin.
Jack Reynor (Sing Street) will star opposite Paul Rudd (Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania) and Nick Jonas (The Good Half) in Power Ballad, the latest film from John Carney. Reynor and Carney have previously collaborated together on films Sing Street and Flora and Son, and Prime Video series Modern Love. Power Ballad is currently shooting in Dublin.
Details on Reynor’s character are still under wraps, but the film is described as “an uplifting, music-driven story about a wedding singer, a rock star, and the song that comes between them”.
From 30West and Likely Story, Power Ballad is written by Carney and Peter McDonald (The Stag). Anthony Bregman and Peter Cron will produce for Likely Story, and Robert Walpole and Rebecca O’Flanagan will produce for Treasure Entertainment. Carney will also produce.
30WEST and Screen Ireland will finance and executive produce the film.
Carney’s previous film Flora and Son, starring Jack Reynor, received six IFTA nominations earlier this year, including Best Film.
