RTÉ Enjoys Record-Breaking Figures for FIFA 2104 World Cup
21 Jul 2014 | Audiences in Ireland tuned into the 2014 FIFA World Cup on RTÉ in record numbers, across RTÉ Two television, RTÉ Player and RTÉ.ie. It marked the highest television audience for a World Cup Final since USA ‘94.

‘Let Us Prey’ Gets Asian Premiere
21 Jul 2014 | ‘Let Us Prey’, directed by Brian O’Malley in his feature debut, had its Asian premiere at the recent 18th Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival. The horror film received its premiere on Saturday (19th July) night and will also screen later today and on the 25th July.

New Trailer for Season 2 of ‘The Fall’
18 Jul 2014 | A new trailer for the second season of hit crime drama The Fall has just been released. The new series sees Jamie Dornan and Gillian Anderson return as serial killer Paul Spector and DSI Stella Gibson respectively in the six-part second season which has finished shooting in Belfast. The series is due for broadcast this autumn.

‘GOLD’ to Hit Irish Cinemas This Autumn
17 Jul 2014 | IFTA winning Niall Heery’s latest film GOLD which stars Screen International’s ‘Star of Tomorrow’ Maisie Williams (‘Game of Thrones’), David Wilmot (‘Calvary’), Kerry Condon (‘The Runway’) and James Nesbitt (‘The Hobbit’) will be released in Irish cinemas this autumn. Wildcard Distribution who is distributing the film in Ireland have also released the official trailer (see below).

TV3 announces new Documentary Unit and New Primetime Evening Show
17 Jul 2014 | A new Primetime evening show will air on TV3 in January 2015, adding over 127 hours of Irish home produced content to the schedule. A major new production team will be assembled for the new weeknight show comprising of a number of TV3 reporters and anchored by a new name, still to be revealed.
A new Public Affairs Documentary Unit will replace ‘Midweek’. 3e’s news programme ‘fyi’ is to be replaced with 60 second news bulletins throughout the day.

Directors of ‘GOT’ Season 5 revealed
17 Jul 2014 | Following last week’s report that Michael Slovis was confirmed as one of the directors for Season 5 of ‘Game of Thrones’, the remaining helmers for the upcoming season have been revealed. Five directors have been selected and each will direct two episodes of the upcoming season of the hit HBO series.

Young Irish Filmmakers get behind the camera at IADT
15 Jul 2014 | The National Youth Film School (NYFS) takes place at the Institute of Art, Design and Technology (IADT) Dun Laoghaire on July 14th – 18th 2014. The NYFS is specifically designed for young people aged 16 to 19 who are interested in pursuing a career in film-making or television. Budding filmmakers will attend a week long training and production workshop at IADT where they will get the chance to work on a professionally run crew to produce a short film. An industry premiere is planned for autumn 2014 to screen the films and showcase the young talent.
