Written and directed by Anthony White, the film is about a group of friends who are trying to maintain their fractured relationships. 12 Aug 2014 | Calls are being made for papers and submissions for the ‘Picteilín’ Creative Media conference ‘Life Through Pixels’ at the Dundalk Institute of Technology, on Monday, November 3rd, 2014. The conference theme is ‘Creative Media and Games Studies: Developing Design, Play and Storytelling’ and the deadline for abstracts is Monday, September 15th, 2014.

Its consumer awareness programmes address the on-going challenge of film and TV copyright infringement by inspiring audiences to value great movie moments and choose to watch film, TV and video via legitimate sources. Industry funded, their work aims to engage audiences, providing extensive insight around audience attitudes and understanding of intellectual property.

Theo James and Eric Bana in Talks for ‘Secret Scripture’
11 Aug 2014 | Following the news of young Irish actor Jack Reynor (‘What Richard Did’, ‘Transformers: Age of Extinction’) joining the cast for the highly-anticipated film adaptation of ‘Secret Scripture’, Variety.com has since reported that actors Eric Bana and Theo James are also in talks to join the cast.

Idris Elba to Join Irish Director Jim O’Hanlon’s Debut
11 Aug 2014 | Idris Elba ('Luther', 'Prometheus', 'Thor') will star in and produce ‘A Hundred Streets’ (originally called ‘One Square Mile’), the feature debut of Irish director Jim O'Hanlon. The feature, which also stars Gemma Arterton (‘Quantum of Solace’, ‘Byzantium’), Adam Bakri (‘Omar’) and Franz Drameh (‘Edge of Tomorrow’, ‘Now is Good’), has begun production.

Casting continues for TV3’s new Soap ‘Red Rock’
11 Aug 2014 | The casting process for TV3’s brand new soap ‘Red Rock’ got underway last week with two Dublin casting sessions at the John Player Factory on the South Circular Road held last Saturday and Sunday. The first open casting session attracted hundreds of hopefuls, and the coming week will see the search continue for stars of the show with regional casting sessions in Cork, Limerick, Belfast and Galway.

Irish Documentary Feature ‘Here Was Cuba’ Shortlisted for Prestigious Grierson Award
11 Aug 2014 | Following IFTN’s report that Neasa Ní Chianáin's new feature documentary, ‘The Stranger’, has been selected for the Semaine de la Critique competition at the Locarno Film Festival, it has since been confirmed that another Irish documentary feature ‘Here Was Cuba’, has been shortlisted for a Grierson Award, one of the UK’s most prestigious documentary prizes.

Barry Keoghan and Rachel Griffiths for ‘Mammal’
01 Aug 2014 | ‘Mammal’ is the latest feature from Irish director Rebecca Daly, who previously helmed ‘The Other Side of Sleep’. Her new project, which was granted funding from the Irish Film Board and from the Luxembourg Film Fund, is a love story about a woman who takes in a homeless child after her own son goes missing.
