Cork International Film Festival has opened submissions for their 69th edition. The festival will take place November 7th - 17th, 2024.
Cork International Film Festival showcases international and Irish features, documentaries and shorts, and includes programmes for schools, families, and specialist Industry Days such as Doc Day. Programme strands also include Culinary Cinema (film and food), Green Screen (film and environment & climate activism), Guilty Pleasures (cult classics) and Illuminate (film and mental health).
“Film festivals matter,” said film producer and CIFF Patron Lord David Puttnam. “Their purpose is to introduce new and unexpected work to each successive generation of filmgoers. Every 15 to 20 years cinema needs to find ‘new voices’, ones that speak to and illuminate the experience of a new generation of cinema-goers. And that voice needs not just to be discovered but encouraged and supported.”
The festival welcomes submissions of features and shorts, and all forms of film production (fiction, documentary, animation, experimental, etc.) They look for interesting new voices and work that pushes boundaries and takes risks. The festival recognises filmmakers’ achievements through 12 Awards, three of which are Academy Award qualifying.
Applicants to the 2024 submissions platform will be notified of the outcome of their submission in September 2024.
