Studiocanal has released the official trailer for upcoming action thriller Retribution.
The Liam Neeson-led film is directed by Nimród Antal (Predators), and adapted by Christopher Salmanpour (FBI: Most Wanted), Andrew Baldwin (The Outsider), and Ward Parry (Curtiz) from a screenplay by Alberto Marini (El Desconocido). Retribution is the third remake of Spanish film El Desconocido, following the German remake Steig. Nicht. Aus!/Don't. Get. Out! and South Korean remake Hard Hit.
Retribution is an action thriller from Studiocanal and The Picture Company that follows an American businessman (Liam Neeson) driving his children to school, who receives a bomb threat that his car will explode if they stop and get out.
Matthew Modine (Stranger Things, The Martini Shot), Jack Champion (Avatar: The Way of Water), Arian Moayed (Succession), Noma Dumezweni (The Little Mermaid), Lily Aspell (Wonder Woman), and Embeth Davidtz (Bicentennial Man).
The Picture Company partners Andrew Rona and Alex Heineman produced the film along with Jaume Collet-Sera, Juan Sola, and Shanna Eddy. Vaca Films, which made the original, executive produces along with Atresmedia Cine.
This is the fourth Neeson thriller vehicle made through The Picture Company’s overall deal with Studiocanal, the previous films being Non-Stop, The Commuter and Unknown.
Retribution releases in cinemas on August 23rd, 2023.
