Alexandra McGuinness Drama 'She's Missing' Acquired by Vertical Entertainment

Eliza Gonzalez in 'She's Missing'.
Vertical Entertainment has acquired North American distribution rights to the Irish produced feature film, which is screening to buyers at Cannes this week.

A US based thriller, ‘She’s Missing’ follows the story of a young woman searching across the desert for her friend who went missing at a Rodeo. Heidi’s search sees her dig up secrets and encounter violence in a complex portrait of female friendship.

Written and directed by Irish filmmaker Alexandra McGuinness, the film boasts a star-studded cast including Lucy Fry (‘Bright’), Eliza Gonzalez (‘Baby Driver’), Josh Hartnett (‘Penny Dreadful’) and Christian Camargo (‘The Hurt Locker’).

‘She’s Missing’ is McGuinness’ second feature film after directing and co-writing ‘Lotus Eaters’ in 2011. Cork-based production company Technowolfe Films co-produced the project alongside Ripple World Pictures, with Eamonn Cleary, Anna O’Malley and Dominic Wright as producers. ‘She’s Missing’ was financed by Screen Ireland and CGI Films.

The film featured at the Newport Beach Film Festival and the deal was brokered by Josh Spector from Vertical and CAA Media Finance. Carnaby International is handling distribution rights for the rest of the world and will be screening the film to buyers during the Cannes market.

The 2019 Cannes Film Festival takes place from 14 – 25 May.
