Ronan Hill has won a third successive Cinema Audio Society award for his work as production sound mixer on the ‘Game of Thrones’ season five episode "Hardhome".
The 52nd Annual CAS Awards were held at the weekend in Los Angeles, California. The Cinema Audio Society was formed in 1964 for the purpose of sharing information with Sound Professionals in the Motion Picture and Television Industry.
Speaking to IFTN after winning the award, Hill said: “I am honoured and delighted with the win which is voted for by my peers. It is a tribute to a hard working team. I am amazed to receive the award for a third year with such strong competition. I was disappointed not to be able to attend the ceremony this year but I can't complain as I am working on a new BBC drama called ‘My Mother And Other Strangers’.”
Ronan picked up his second Primetime Emmy for this episode in Los Angeles last September. He also won a third consecutive Technical Excellence and Creativity (TEC) award for his work on Game of Thrones S5 at the NAMM show held on January 23, 2016 in Anaheim, California.
Hill is also a three time IFTA winner for ‘Game of Thrones’, ‘Hunger’ and ‘Kings’.
