Irish actress Caitriona Balfe wins at People’s Choice Awards for ‘Outlander’
07 Jan 2016 :
Caitriona Balfe is also nominated for a Golden Globe this weekend for her role in ‘Outlander’
Irish actress Caitriona Balfe has won a People’s Choice Award for her performance in US/UK time travel show ‘Outlander’.

Balfe won in the category of Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Actress with ‘Outlander’ also winning for Favorite Cable Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Show. Balfe is also nominated for a Golden Globe Award – with the ceremony taking place on Sunday, January 10th.

The actress has garnered plaudits and awards for her performance as protagonist Claire Beauchamp Randall Fraser on the Starz television series with publications such as Time, Entertainment Weekly and The Hollywood Reporter singling out the actress for praise; the latter stating that Balfe is "reason enough to watch the show - she's a confident actress who brings various shades to her character."

Balfe, who has so far won an Ewwy and a Saturn Award for the show as well as being nominated for two IFTA’s (for Rising Star and Best Actress Television), will next be seen in Jodie Foster’s feature drama ‘Money Monster’ which co-stars George Clooney as well as the second series of 'Outlander'.
