Irish director Brian Kirk will helm Universal's thriller ‘Midnight Delivery’, with Guillermo del Toro producing the Neil Cross penned the script.
Based on an idea by del Toro, the film follows a father who becomes a drug mule to save his son's life. Del Toro is producing through his Del Toro Productions with Gary Ungar and Russell Ackerman exec producing.
One of the principal directors on HBO's ‘Game of Thrones’, Kirk is also attached to direct ‘Paper Wings’ for Lionsgate, and previously drew interest from Marvel at one point to direct the sequel to ‘Thor’, for which Patty Jenkins has since been hired.
Universal's executive veep of production Scott Bernstein and director of development Anikah McLaren will oversee for the studio. Production is planned for next year, after Cross turns in his latest draft.
Kirk recently wrapped production on the latest season of ‘Game of Thrones’.
