A special screening series ‘Irish Film New York’ includes screenings of Ian Palmer’s bar knuckle boxing documentary ‘Knuckle’, Darragh Byrne’s Galway Film Fleadh-winning feature ‘Parked’ and Ian Power’s ‘The Runway’.
The event aims to show the best in contemporary Irish cinema to audiences in NYU, New York. It runs from September 30th to October 2nd and will feature filmmaker Q&As with Ian Palmer, Marian Quinn, Aiden Quinn and Darragh Byrne. ‘Knuckle’, ‘Parked’ and ‘The Runway’ will all receive a limited theatrical release in the United States over the coming months.
Other film screenings include Marian Quinn’s ‘32A’, Maya Derrington’s ‘Pyjama Girls’ Doc and Tom Hall’s ‘Sensation’. Irish short documentaries, animations and live action will also be screened including Ken Wardrop’s ‘Undressing My Mother’, Ross Whitaker’s ‘Bye Bye Now’, ‘Granny O’Grimm’s Sleeping Beauty’ and Academy Award nominated ‘The Crush’.
The screening series takes place in NYU’s Cantor Film Center and is co-presented by NYU’s Glucksman Ireland House with funding from Culture Ireland’s Imagine Ireland Program.
