Coco Television are back to give a fresh look to the eighth series of RTÉ’s ‘Crimecall’. Following the end of the show’s tender in April 2011, RTÉ invited expressions of interest from production companies for ‘Crimecall’, but have re-commissioned the original production company behind the first seven series - Coco Television.
While the format of the show remains largely the same, it has been given a fresh look with a new studio and new presenters in the form of Gráinne Seoige (The All Ireland Talent Show, Daybreak) and Philip Boucher-Hayes (Buyer Beware!).
‘Crimecall’ will be presented live in studio, with a series of Gardai representatives on hand. The show uses interviews, CCTV clips and reconstructions to help elicit responses of evidence from the audience watching at home. Series Producer is Nuala Carr, with Stuart Switzer (The Consumer Show, Any Given Sunday) and Linda Cullen (Room to Improve, The Great Escape) of Coco Television. The studio director on the series is Ian McGarry and inserts directors include Cathal Black and Geraldine Creed.
Production has already began on ‘Crimecall’ series eight and will continue for 10 months. It will TX on RTÉ beginning September 27th as part of RTÉ’s new autumn schedule.
Don’t Tell the Bride
Coco Television are currently prepping for the second series of ‘Don’t Tell the Bride’, another returning RTÉ series in the autumn 2011 line up. The 8x60 minute series has had over 800 couples applying to be in with a chance to win a €10,000 wedding – the only catch being that the groom will choose every aspect of the special day, from the venue to the dress to the entertainment and transport. A shortlist has now been selected by casting producer Nicola Ronaghan ahead of filming which will begin in September and continue until February 2012.
‘Don’t Tell the Bride’ will have a range of directors including Sarah Share. Series producer is Grainne O’Carroll with Linda Cullen of Coco Television Executive Producing. Editors on the series are TBC and it is due to air on RTÉ Two in January 2012.
