Filmbase are offering a two day Internet Filmmaking course on July 21st and 22nd with tutor Simon Walker on board to give hands on training for planning, shooting, editing and uploading on-line videos.
Simon Walker is an Apple Certified Final Cut Studio Master Trainer who teaches industry professionals in editing, motion graphics, colour grading, audio sweetening, DVD and video compression. He has worked with clients such as Vodafone, Sony, 2012 Olympics Commission and BBC Worldwide. In this two day course, he will cover basics and touch upon more advanced features of shooting on Sony EX1 cameras, editing on Final Cut Pro and outputting and uploading for the internet. Simon teaches around Europe and regularly delivers presentations at video production conferences such as the annual IBC in Amsterdam and the NAB in Las Vegas.
The first day of the course will focus on planning and shooting internet videos, covering topics including the limitations of web videos, compression issues, story structure, duration and script, technical issues and practical considerations of planning and shooting a short film such as camera, sound and lighting training. The second day will concentrate on editing and uploading, with Simon going through tips on how to edit quickly, practical production tips including backup, how to add titles and audio, ingesting footage and compressing for the web.
The cost of the course is €300 waged and €280 unwaged. It will take place on the 21st and 22nd July between 10.00 and 17.30. A deposit of €150 is required to secure a place.
