Leading Irish casting directors John & Ros Hubbard (Hubbard Casting) have been added to the line-up of treats for actors at this year’s Galway Film Fleadh.
The casting duo, who discovered the acting talents of Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Orlando Bloom and include credits such as ‘The Lord of the Rings’ trilogy, ‘The Bourne Supremacy’, ‘The Commitments’ and ‘The Hobbit’, will present an overview of casting in addition to a Q&A session on Saturday 9th of July as part of the Actors Masterclass package. As previously announced, actress Amanda Plummer (The Fisher King) will host the Actors Masterclass, in association with FÁS Screen Training Ireland, main event on Friday 8th of July, which will now be followed by the Hubbard Casting session on Saturday at 2.30pm. Casting movies and television productions since 1976, the Hubbard Casting team are currently casting ‘Bert and Dickie’ for the BBC, a story about the Olympic Games in London, and have a number of other projects on their slate.
The deadlines for the Actors Masterclass with Amanda Plummer; the Directors Masterclass with David McKenzie; and the Gill Dennis Screenwriter-in-Residence Programme, in association with IFTA, have all been extended to July 1.
