RTÉ have updated their commissioning briefs for programming on the state broadcaster and are now calling for submissions in sections such as RTÉ Regional and Diversity, Drama and Young Peoples programming.
RTÉ Regional and Diversity programming is now calling for submissions to various slots of programming. One of the many new commissioning briefs calls for proposals for a pre watershed RTÉ ONE Observational Documentary with a budget of up to €270,000. Other calls for submissions are for a (up to) 6x25 minutes ‘Multiculture’ programme in the slot of 19.30 Friday or 20.30 on RTÉ ONE with a budget of up to €45,000 per half-hour and 4x52 minutes slot for ‘Education’ at Monday 21.30 or Tuesday 20.15 on RTÉ1 with a budget of up to €110,000 per hour. Applications should be made through the eCommission system under the correct category which is available online at RTE Commissioning
RTÉ Young Peoples Programming are calling for submissions for a once off engaging and heartwarming Christmas Day Special programme between 26 and 52 minutes. It will be broadcast on Christmas Day on RTÉ2. Closing dates for submissions to this category is Friday 13th August . Young Peoples programming is also looking for proposals for a 20x2 minute series of short films to be broadcast throughout the Christmas period. The budget is €47,500 and the closing date for submission is Friday 2nd September . Young Peoples programming is also calling for submissions for two separate animation series for TRTÉ and RTÉjr.
RTÉ Drama is welcoming submissions for post-watershed dramas in a variety of formats (2/3/4/6x1 hour series and serials). For Drama submissions all ideas should be sent in the form of a brief outline and an indication of the key talent attached or other relevant information should be sent to drama@rte.ie.
