Reachout.com is looking for short film submissions for its film competition which aims to promote positive attitudes to mental health and to challenge stereotypes around the issue. Applicants should submit short films or animations between 90-180 seconds and should explore mental health topics in a positive light. They are looking for stories of how someone can get through a tough time while experiencing anxiety, depression, bullying, relationship problems, grief or loss.
The overall winner will receive a €2000 prize and an internship with Irish ad agency Cawley-Nea. Runners up will receive €1000 and €500 respectively. Initial entrants should submit a brief on a proposed video, including a storyboard of scenes. These will then be judged based on message interpretation, creativity and production plan. Successful submissions will be invited to produce their video project. Deadline for submission is 30 June 2011 and Shortlisted teams will be contacted by 15 July 2011.
