Newgrange Pictures' 'Call Girl' Receives Support from Finnish Film Foundation

Directed by Mikael Marcimain (How Soon is Now?) and written by Marietta von Hausswolff con Baumgarten (Allrams höjdarpaket), the Irish/Swedish/Norwegian/Finnish co-production ‘Call Girl’ was given funding of €130,000 from the Finnish Film Foundation in their latest round of funding support which was announced yesterday.

‘Call Girl’ is a political thriller, described as “a story of lost innocence; the girls´, the police´s and society´s alike”. International cast in the feature is TBC.

The feature received €150,000 funding for fiction creative co-productions from the Irish Film Board in December 2010 and a further €25,000 in April 2011. International sales for the film are being handled by Trust Nordisk. The film is a co-production between Newgrange Pictures (Ireland), Garagefilm International AB (Sweden), Friland Produksjon (Norway) and Yellow Film & TV (Finland).

Further production details will be announced on IFTN later this month.
