The deadline for submissions to the 23rd annual Galway Film Fleadh Pitching Award has been extended to Thursday 16th June.
The 23rd annual Galway Film Fleadh Pitching Award will take place on Sunday July 10th. It is a live event where five short-listed aspiring filmmakers will pitch their ideas for a film to a panel of industry experts.
To apply to take part in the competition, applicants should write and submit a 500 word story idea for screen. The winner will receive €3000 which they can use to further develop their script or to enhance their filmmaking skills.
Previous winners include Will Collins, who won the award in 2007 after pitching ‘My Brothers’, which was nominated for three IFTA awards at the 2011 ceremony as well as having been screened at Galway Film Fleadh 2010, Rome International Film Festival and Tribeca Film Festival.
The deadline for application has now been extended to Thursday June 16th. Application forms can be gotten on the Galway Film Fleadh website at Galway Film Fleadh Pitching Award and sent to the following address: Galway Film Fleadh, 36D Merchants Dock, Merchants Road, Galway, Ireland. All copies of submitted work should be submitted blind, without a name on the story idea page
