The new digital initiative UTV Everywhere will allow local websites to use video content from UTV. Content such as ‘UTV Live’, ‘Ultimate Ulster’, ‘The Seven Thirty Show’ and ‘Lesser Spotted Ulster’ can now be used free of charge to help boost local websites.
This content is already available on the UTV Player but can now be hosted on separate Northern Irish websites. Managing Director of UTV Michael Wilson says the wider use of UTV content on other websites “will enhance the online experience for users of our partners’ websites, bringing up to the minute video content about Northern Ireland to the widest possible audience and further developing UTV’s links with the communities we serve, wherever they are.”
Nico Fell, e-Commerce Manager, UTV said: “UTV Everywhere is a simple, effective sharing solution that will increase traffic and the duration of time spent by users on our partners’ websites.
“We are quite literally giving our content away to other websites to improve the digital experience for their audiences. Our video clips are also available on almost any platform from PS3 to iPads and laptops to android phones and of course we intend to keep developing solutions for our content to be shown on new platforms as they emerge.”
Aubrey Irwin of Tourism Ireland said that this initiative will help maintain the regularly updated and engaging content on the website www.discoverireland.com: “We now have access to broadcast quality content, covering a range of subjects from Titanic to motorsport, that will help us promote Northern Ireland and the island of Ireland across the world.”
