Cork Screen Commissioner Sought

The Cork Screen Commission is currently seeking a Cork Screen Commissioner. Launched in February of this year the new Cork Screen Commission will act as the primary point of contact for companies working or intending to work on location in Cork and it is planned that a Cork Screen Commissioner will be in place by July. The deadline for applications for the Commissioner role is Friday, May 20th.

Cork City and County Councils launched the establishment of the Cork Film Commission in February with an initial fund of €100,000. The Cork Screen Commission will be managed by Cork Film Centre, on behalf of the City and County Councils. The body will have its headquarters at the old Gunpowder Mills Centre in Ballincollig, Cork.

The newly formed Cork Screen Commission’s key roles are three-fold and will encompass actively marketing the Cork region as a prime location for film and TV production; supporting the region’s indigenous film and TV industry cast and crew members and providing a comprehensive production support service for those involved in the industry.

The Cork Screen Commissioner’s ain roles will include actively marketing the Cork region as a film location, providing a comprehensive production support service and supporting indigenous film production. Shortlisted candidates will be required to give a 10 minute presentation under the heading of ‘Marketing Cork as a Film Location’, followed by a 20 minute interview.

Anyone interested in applying for the role has until Friday, May 20th. The successful applicant will have a fixed term contract of 3 years full time, subject to continuation of funding.
