Ireland’s Cardel Entertainment is currently in pre-production with a new dramatised feature documentary entitled ‘Secret of Permanency’. The Irish/Iranian co-production is set to shoot in Iran in May and June and will be edited in Dublin’s Screen Scene.
‘Secret of Permanency’ follows the steps of an anonymous western girl, played by Australian actress Tabatha Nielsen, who embarks on a spiritual journey to Esfahan, Iran. Wandering through the Bazaar Mosques and ancient palaces she explores the echoes of ancient Persian history and civilisation. The feature documentary will be co-produced by Ana Catarina Margarido Ferreira and executively co-produced by Carla Mooney for Ireland’s Cardel Entertainment, the company behind ‘American Royalty’. The Iranian co-producer working on the project is Seyed Mohsen Tabatabaei from Barge Sabz Productions. The feature will be directed by Khashayar Mahmoodabadi.
The other Irish crew on board the project include script supervisor Delwyn Mooney (Lotus Eaters) and IFTA winner Mairead McIvor (Savage) who will edit the feature in Screen Scene in August.
Director of photography, Morteza Ghafouri (Ravayat Have na Tanam) will shoot on HD in Iran during May and June. Budget information for the project is currently not available and the producers are hoping to receive IFB funding for the feature but this has not been confirmed.
