The final deadline for proposals as to MEDIA funding for the development of single projects and slate funding and the development of interactive projects is 11:00am on April 11th 2011.
The MEDIA Programme project-development funding is aimed at three types of production company including: medium-sized companies developing dramas, animations or creative documentaries, with previous international experience and sufficient financial capacity to take on several projects at the same time. Such companies can apply for slate funding.
The other companies who can apply for funding are smaller companies developing dramas, animations or creative documentaries, with limited financial capacity, seeking to develop a single project. These companies can apply for the support to single projects. Funding is also available to companies developing on and off-line interactive works.
Several Irish features have received MEDIA funding support over the years including Cartoon Saloon’s ‘The Secret of Kells’; Fastnet Films’ ‘The Runway’; Grand Pictures’ ‘Trivia’; Crossing the Line’s ‘Broken Tail’s Last Journey’; Jam Media’s ‘Tilly and Friends’ and Newgrange Pictures feature film, ‘Happy Ever Afters’.
