IBEC Audiovisual Federation/Telecommunications and Internet Federation, in conjunction with Enterprise Ireland, will host a Digital Content and the Creative Economy half day event on Thursday, November 18th. The event will see topics such as ‘Film, TV and Animation in a Digital World’, ‘Online and Mobile Content’ and ‘Internationalising the Creative Economy’ dealt with by industry members including BAI CEO Michael O’Keeffe; YouTube, EMEA and Google Director, Sebastien Missoffe and UPC Sales & Marketing Director, Mark Coan.
The first session of the day will centre around ‘Film, TV and Animation in a Digital World’. Chaired by Sky Ireland’s Mark Deering, the attendees will hear from Chris Bonney, Senior Vice President of Warner Bros. Sales & Acquisitions and International TV Production; RTÉ Director of Programmes, Steve Carson. The session’s panellists include BAI CEO, Michael O’Keefe; Brown Bag Films CEO, Cathal Gaffney; Accomplice TV/Samson Films CEO, David Collins and Screentime Shinawil CEO, Larry Bass.
The following session will explore the topic ‘Online and Mobile Content’ and will be chaired by Element Pictures and Distribution CEO, Andrew Lowe. The speakers for this event will be Karl Aherne, New Business & Innovation Manager at Telefonica O2 and YouTube, EMEA and Google Director, Sebastien Missoffe and the panellists who will examine the topic are Magnet Networks CEO, Mark Kellett; Caboom Creative Director Damien Farrell; RTÉ Publishing Executive Director, Muirne Laffan and UPC Sales & Marketing Director, Mark Coan.
The third and final session of the day is entitled ‘Internationalising the Creative Economy’ and will be chaired by Irish Film Board and Windmill Lane Pictures Ltd. Chairman, James Morris. The speakers for this last event are President of Summit Entertainment, David Garrett and Big Mountain Productions MD, Jane Kelly. The panellists for this topic are CISCO’s Paul Kavanagh; Tyrone Productions Director, John McColgan; Irish Times MD, Liam Kavanagh and International Content Services Centre’s Neil Leyden.
