John Corcoran (Poultry in Motion, Virtues of a Sinner) has wrapped filming on his latest short film ‘Rage’, shot on the new Red One Camera, supplied by Dublin’s Production Depot.
The film, starring Ciara Kirby and Brian Wafer, follows the story of a woman coming to grips with the possibilities of pregnancy and was filmed over two days on location in Bray.
‘Rage’ was one of first short films in Ireland to be shot entirely on the new RED camera. “The RED Camera has really burst on to the scene in the last month,” says Corcoran. “It’s a 4k digital camera and shoots footage of as good quality as 35mm, but is much more cost effective.”
DOP on the shoot was Patrick Jordan (Matterhorn, The Faeries of Blackheath Woods) with production designer Eleonora McNamara (The Ultimate Guide to Everything). Post-production on ‘Rage’ is being completed by Piranha Bar.
Corcoran’s short ‘Virtues of a Sinner’ previously scooped a Best International Director award in the Short Film Category at the New York Independent Film Festival, 2005.
On June 6th the director begins shooting a new short ‘Sense of Honour’, starring Emmet Scanlon, a participant in RTÉ’s ‘Hollywood Trials’.
