Currently filming in Donegal, Netflix has released first-look images for In the Land of Saints and Sinners starring Liam Neeson and Ciarán Hinds.
Shooting in and around the Donegal town of Bundoran, the film sees Liam Neeson (Taken, Widows, Non-Stop) and Ciarán Hinds (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Belfast) joined by fellow Irish stalwart Colm Meaney (The Banker, Tolkien).
In the Land of Saints and Sinners is set in a remote Irish village, where a newly retired assassin finds himself drawn into a lethal game of cat and mouse with a trio of vengeful terrorists.
Kerry Condon (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri; Avengers: Endgame, The Banshees of Inisherin), Jack Gleeson (Game of Thrones, Out of Her Mind), Desmond Eastwood (Normal People, Hidden Assets), Sarah Greene (Penny Dreadful, Normal People, Rosie), Conor MacNeill (The Fall, Industry), Seamus O’Hara (Game of Thrones, The Northman), Valentine Olukoga (Unforgotten), and Mark O’Regan (Blood, Leap Year) round out a cast, which features a strong Irish contingent.
The screenplay is written by Mark Michael McNally and Terry Loane, with revisions by Matthew Feitshans. The film is being produced by Markus Barmettler, Kieran Corrigan, Philip Lee, and Bonnie Timmermann. Executive producers include Ehud Bleiberg, Danny Dimbort, Nicholas Bennett, Victor Hadida, Marc Jacobson, Robert Lorenz, Adrian Grabe, Daniel Fluri, and Marcel Gloor.
This is the latest major project to film in the Donegal region over the past year with A24’s Cannes-selected psychological drama God’s Creatures starring Paul Mescal and Emily Watson filming in Tír Chonaill last year.
