The Irish Film Board has announced that registration for membership of the Irish Pavilion at the 2014 Festival de Cannes is now open. Registration is only open to Irish companies or to individuals working in the Irish film industry.
Every year, the Irish Pavilion has had a central position at the heart of the international village, and the Pavilion will be retaining its position this year. It offers invaluable business services for its members during the festival.
To register, you can fill in the online application form here. Online registration will close on Wednesday April 30 at 5pm. Registration for the Irish Pavilion is separate to market and festival accreditation. These must be applied to separately (you can apply for the Marché du Film at this link).
The IFB has advised that if applicants have an Irish film or co-production screening or selling at the market, to inform the Board so that the details may be included in marketing materials and promotions. The information should be included in the online application form to register for the Irish Pavilion, or emailed through marketing@irishfilmboard.ie.
The Cannes Film Festival is one of the most prestigious and publicised film festivals of the world. It previews new films of all genres from a vast number of countries, and its awards are highly coveted. Irish films that have previously been successful at Cannes include ‘The Wind that Shakes the Barley’, ‘The General’ and ‘Garage’. See the official website for more on the festival.
The Irish Pavilion is an Irish Film Board initiative.
