Graham Linehan - best known for creating & writing ‘Father Ted’ with Arthur Mathews - is bringing his more recent Channel 4 sitcom ‘The IT Crowd’ back to TV screens later this month for a special farewell episode.
The IFTA-winning comedy series, which starred Chris O’Dowd before ‘Bridesmaids’ launched his Hollywood career, followed the adventures of three socially inept office workers in technical support and ran for four seasons from 2006-2010.
Graham Linehan took to his Twitter account to announce the news, which will reunite O’Dowd with co-stars Richard Ayoade and Katherine Parkinson.
The series won the IFTA for Best Script for Television in 2009 and the Bafta for Best Situation Comedy the same year - with Linehan sharing in the award with producer Ash Atalla and producer/director Richard Boden.
Mr Linehan also won a Bafta for 'Black Books', starring Irish comedian Dylan Moran in 2001, and two for ‘Father Ted’ in 1999 and 1996.
Chris O’Dowd is currently directing ‘Moone Boy’ season three in Boyle, Co Roscommon; Ardmore Studios in Bray; and locations in Dublin and Wicklow - with the series set to wrap on 13th September.
