Zachary Quinto, star of ‘Heroes’ and J.J. Abrams’ ‘Star Trek’ franchise, will be the subject of this year’s Actors Masterclass at the 25th Galway Film Fleadh on July 12th.
The Actors Masterclass, in association with Screen Training Ireland, will be hosted by John Hubbard of Hubbard Casting and will provide an interactive environment in the skills, methodology and aesthetics of film acting aimed at actors working or wanting to work more in the recorded media. Quinto will also answer questions and provide tips on dealing with all the common fears actors have regarding work in front of the camera.
Shortly after his appearance in J.J. Abrams’ modern take on the Star Trek franchise in 2009, Quinto revealed in an interview with Jimmy Kimmel that he lived and worked in Galway city for a time and would love to return. Since his time spent working in a café on Galway’s Abbeygate Street, the prolific actor has gone on to star in such popular TV shows as ‘24’, ‘Heroes’ and ‘American Horror Story’, as well as producing and starring in ‘Margin Call’.
Now, fresh from reprising his role as Mr. Spock in Star Trek into Darkness, Quinto is preparing to make a return return to the West of Ireland for the 25th Galway Film Fleadh.
The six day 2013 international film event takes place from Tuesday 9th until Sunday 14th July. This year’s Fleadh will continue to showcase the latest Irish films, with premieres of new Irish films each evening of the Fleadh. There will also be a public interview with renowned Irish actress Saoirse Ronan on July 14th.
The Actors Masterclass is an actors-only event with limited places. For further information on other screenings and events with the Star Trek actor, visit galwayfilmfleadh.com, visit the facebook page facebook.com/GalwayFilmFleadh or Tweet @FilmFleadh.
