Irish director John Crowley (Boy A) is to begin shooting his as yet untitled international suspense thriller in the UK next week with Ciarán Hinds joining the cast.
A co-production from Focus Features and Britain’s Working Title Films, the movie will star Eric Bana (Hanna) and Rebecca Hall (Vicky Cristina Barcelona) in the leading roles.
Hinds (Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy) has joined the cast in a supporting role, alongside new additions Anne-Marie Duff (Garage); Riz Ahmed (Four Lions); Jim Broadbent (Iris); Kenneth Cranham (An Inspector Calls) and Julia Stiles (Dexter).
In the thriller, two ex-lovers, Martin (Bana) and Claudia (Hall), find their loyalties tested and their lives at risk when they are joined together on the defense team in a terrorism trial.
The original screenplay is penned by Steven Knight (Dirty Pretty Things, Eastern Promises) and the film will be produced by Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner and Chris Clark (The Guard). Working Title’s Liza Chasin is executive producer.
Alongside ‘Boy A’ Crowley’s previous credits as director include ‘Intermission’ and ‘Is Anybody There’
Focus holds worldwide rights to the feature, and will be selling it at the Cannes International Film Festival in May.
