‘Imeall’ (Edge) the first of TG4’s new thirty five part arts series produced by Red Shoe Productions will air this Wednesday 1st October at 11.05pm.
Produced by Maggie Breathnach and directed by Paschal Cassidy, the programme aims to report on the cultural and artistic happenings from across the country.
Musician Cormac de Barra who previously presented the music programme ‘Flosc’ will present and interview guests from the Galway studio as well as previewing and reviewing of the latest arts openings and events.
In conjunction with the studio interviews each programme will contain two location reports from the artistic community at venues nationwide charting the country’s cultural and artistic calendar.
Reporters for the series include the singer Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh, artists Fergal McCarthy and Sinead Ní Mhaonaigh, contemporary dancer Fearghus Ó Conchúir, and Ceara Conway a stain glass artist. Each programme will also feature a musical showcase of an emerging talent, as well as established performers.
Guests lined up for the programme one include musician Colm Mac Con Iomaire from rock band ‘The Frames’, an interview with Pat McArdle - Executive Producer of the new Irish feature ‘Anton’ and a studio interview with Darragh O’ Tuairisc from Fibin the Galway based puppet company and a contemporary dance piece by Ríonach Ní Néill.
Two programmes of the series will be filmed every second Sunday and will broadcast twice a week on Wednesdays at 11.05pm and on Sundays at 7.00pm.
