Oscar-nominated actor Stephen Rea (V for Vendetta, Breakfast on Pluto) is set to give the Opening Interview at the Celtic Media Festival, which takes place from Wednesday 16th – Friday 18th April, 2008 at the Radisson SAS Hotel & Spa, Galway.
The Belfast-born actor, who received Best Actor IFTA nominations for his roles in ‘Breakfast on Pluto’ and ‘The Halo Effect’, will be interviewed by broadcaster John Kelly (The View) on Wednesday 16th April at 4pm.
The annual three-day fest aims to promote the languages and cultures of Celtic countries Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Cornwall and Brittany on screen and in broadcasting.
The Celtic Media Festival presents media awards in categories including Animation, Drama, Drama Series, Kieran Hegarty Award for Interactivity / Education, Arts Documentary, Sports Profile and Radio Documentary.
The festival will feature several panel discussions, including ‘Trends – 21st Century Box’; ‘Scannan In Aisce - Films for Love & Money’, featuring ‘Once’ producer David Collins; ‘Celtic Drama’, with Eugene O’Brien (Eden) and an interview with filmmaker Paul Watson (Malcolm and Barbara: A Love Story, The Family).
