VooDooDog have been shortlisted for the Rushes Soho Shorts Festival 2007, London, in the Title Sequences & Idents Award category for ‘Smokin’ Aces’.
‘Smokin’ Aces’, a Working Title/Universal picture was directed by Joe Carnahan and the title sequence was directed by Irish animator Paul Donnellon and produced by David Z.Obadiah of VooDooDog.
The Festival will be taking place in 16 venues across the West End from 28th July to 3rd August 2007. In addition to screenings in the venues around Soho, Babelgum (www.babelgum.com) will be screening the Rushes Soho Shorts Festival for the duration of the festival finishing on Wednesday 15th August.
VooDooDog were previously nominated in the same category at the 2004 festival for their EMMY® nominated title seqeunce from the film ‘The Life And Death of Peter Sellers’ directed by Stephen Hopkins and starring Geoffrey Rush and Charlize Theron.
Currently VooDooDog are creating the opening title sequence to ‘The Golden Age’ also starring Geoffrey Rush and Cate Blanchett, directed by Shekhar Kapur for Working Title/Universal and they have commenced work on the title sequence to Mike Newell’s feature ‘Love in the time of Cholera’ a New Line Cinema release based on the novel by Gabriel García Márquez.
